I welcome everything that comes to me today, because I know it's for my healing. I welcome all thoughts, feelings, emotions, persons, situations, and conditions. I let go of my desire for power and control. I let go of my desire for affection, esteem, approval, and pleasure.

Just thinking about welcoming everything is life changing. Why would anyone welcome everything? One response is that I might as well, because for sure I don't have control over much that comes to me today. It can be pretty tough out there! I do, however, have choice in how I respond. One of my first choices is to admit that I need healing; once I do it is easier to welcome whatever happens. Then there is letting go of desires, for me the big one is the desire for control.
Praying this prayer every day, however, seems to be loosening some of my ties to some of my desires. Give the prayer a try.
