Now that the July 4th parade and party is over, we onto the next adventure.
Praying for safe travel is rather low as a prayer request category, but I’m thinking about asking for a soft prayer as my husband and I, and kids and grandkids head for the Kennebec River and a day of white water rafting. It’s our way of celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary, which comes up in December. I’ve never rafted before, but I’m not scared, just excited. After all, we’re not heading out on our own but have signed onto a package that includes quides, equipment, lodgings and food. And yet, when a family loads into a couple of cars and heads for the highway and hills, it’s time for a ‘soft’ prayer.
