What is the fruit of my days here as I sit in silence, solitude and simplicity? God has plans for me, plans that will be good for me, with no harm and a future with hope. Of course I have to keep playing my part, which is to search for God and open my heart to God (and everyone). God won’t restore me alone without restoring everyone else.
We all have times in our lives when we’re at some kind of crossroad, when it’s time for something new, be it a job, living arrangement, friend, hobby, or even a different outlook on life. These can be big changes or small shifts. If I keep up a steady routine of daily prayer, meditation and Bible reading, I’m continually amazed that just the right scripture speaks to me. Oh, I shouldn’t’ be amazed, but I love that God’s awesomeness continually surprises and delights me.
For surely I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you call me and come and pray to me I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart, I will let you find me, says the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and the places where I have driven you says the Lord and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile. Jeremiah 29:11-14
