When I am out in nature, as I was today walking along the shore, I find myself thinking about the God who spoke to Job and his friends after the friends finished their explanation of the tragic state in which Job found himself. The friends have clearly given a ‘talking with God’ description. But God, speaking from the whirlwind, wants no part of their simplistic account. In fact God chastises them. ‘What a nerve you have to think you know and understand me. You have no idea. Where were you when this all started, when I was creating?’
I walk with God and talk with God, but I also know that I have no understanding. I’m walk in awe.
