Good morning. It’s 50 degrees and raining. So much for praying for weather. Whether we pray about it or not, weather changes, the seasons come and go, and we adjust. We probably should be praying that we stay attentive to global warming and to what we can do about it.
What do I pray for? Or rather what should I pray for? These are questions that I’ll keep asking. I come up with an answer that suits me for the moment, but I know that there’s no definitive answer. That’s the way it is with God. God is the light and the truth, but we humans are just here to try to follow and make some sense of it. Jesus said, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men,” but it is never clear to the disciples where they were going or what the fishers of men means. The “follow me” seemed like a good idea to them, and today it suits me just fine. But this “fishers of men”….I have to think more about that one. Sounds like a big responsibility.
