For a while we Christians were afraid to speak up politically, hiding behind, or perhaps fearing, tampering with the church-state issue. But quickly we realized that we had to talk about Matthew 25 where Jesus tells us, “Truly I will tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” His family is all of humanity. And also, there is the commandment to love God and to love our neighbor as ourselves, which is in the bottom line message of both Judaism and Christianity.
