|A Prayer Diary
The birth of Christ in our souls is for a purpose beyond ourselves: it is because His manifestation in the world must be through us.
People often speak of god being even-handed. God is not even-handed. God is biased, in favor of the weak, of the despised.
When we say, “It is Christmas,” we mean that God has spoken into the world his last, his deepest, his most beautiful word in the incarnate Word. . . . And this word means: I love you, you, the world and human beings.
It is precisely because we are weary, and poor in spirit, that God can touch us with hope.
We have come to the end of a long journey and see that the stranger we meet there is no other than ourselves—which is the same as saying that we find Christ in him.
Writing is a form of spiritual exploration for me – and so it always opens me to new insights and guidance from God. I am often led to write about the growing edges of my life –

One of the aims of the architecture in a world without mechanical amplifications was to create space where the human voice could resonate deeply and harmoniously and the sacred readings could be heard clearly.
Ascending to the upper floor, and finding the Annunciation on the landing, it seems as if you have just stepped into Paradise.
If God has made your cup sweet, drink it with grace; if He has made it bitter, drink it in communion with Him.
