The word of the Lord came to Zechariah, saying: Thus says the Lord of hosts. Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another.
You shall not hate in your heart anyone of your kin; you shall reprove your neighbor or you will incur guilt yourself.
Let your word be ‘Yes, yes,’ or ‘No, no’; anything more than that comes from the evil one.
This is what the Lord has commanded. When a man makes a vow to the Lord, or swears an oath to bind him to a pledge, he shall not break his word; he shall to according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.
Therefore, brothers and sisters, holy partners in a heavenly calling, consider that Jesus…was faith to the one who appointed him….
O the depth and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his thoughts!
Therefore, I prayed and understanding was given me; I called on God, and the spirit of wisdom came to me.
Word and Image
offers two parts of my morning ritual, scripture and visual art. I make no
attempt to related the two (as I do in my daily quote and blog entries) and
yet, sometimes that will happen, for as we know God works in mysterious ways.
