So then, putting away falsehoods, let us all speak the truth to our neighbor, for we are members of one another.
Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water I give them will never be thirsty….”
[The people] said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we listen; but do not let God speak to us, or we will die.”
Thus says the Lord: Do not let the wise boast in their wisdom, do not let the mighty boast in their might, do not let the wealthy boast in their wealth; but let those who boast boast in this, that they understand and know me; that I am the Lord, I will act with steadfast love, justice and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the Lord.
As God’s chosen ones, holy and believed, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.
But knowing this hypocrisy, he (Jesus) said to them, “Why are you putting me to the test?”
Word and Image
offers two parts of my morning ritual, scripture and visual art. I make no
attempt to related the two (as I do in my daily quote and blog entries) and
yet, sometimes that will happen, for as we know God works in mysterious ways.
