Fruit of the Spirit #2 JOY

# 2 Joy, the second fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5: 22-23)
     Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:24
     May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13
      Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, "Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. Philippians 4: 4-5.
     But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. Psalm 5:11

    Joy is a noun, something I feel, long for and try to reach. But joy comes to life as a verb; it becomes transactional as I rejoice in the Lord. I rejoice when I thank God, when I feel the joy God has given me. In receiving this gift of the spirit, I respond to God's grace and mercy, joyful.

For some reason whenever I order something at a restaurant or cafe and they ask my name, and I say, Doris, they have time and time again, thought I had said ‘Joy’. Now, when they ask what is your name for the order or the table, I say, ‘Joy’. The significance of this isn’t that the name is adorable, but that this started happening at a time in my life when I really started to become very aware of my reliance on the "joy of the Lord as my strength." - Nehemiah 8:10.....It's amazing how God weaves these moments into our lives....

Romans 15:13 - “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”,

and,

Psalm 16:11 - “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
